Sacred Shadows Container
“Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate.”- Carl G. Jung
What is a shadow? What does it mean to face your shadows? What is the problem with not recognizing the shadow? Have you ever had a moment where you were confused “Why did I snap like that?”, “Where did that feeling come from?”. This is the work of the Shadow.
It’s a common misconception that the Shadow is something outside of us, mysterious, scary, or maybe in the form of a supernatural entity. The Shadow is the aspect of ourselves that we can’t see (unconscious) and buried away because of societal norms, personal traumas, and conditioned beliefs. Deciding to do things in private because of shame and embarrassment is the beginning of forming the Shadow.
Becoming familiar with the shadow is an essential part of becoming more rounded, more whole, and more colorful. It is where we hold potential, talents, and passions.
The things you’ve hidden that you wouldn’t want anyone to know or see, that’s the shadow. We have to welcome it to the table, we have to give it a voice. In this container, we will learn to embrace the mystery of exploring the shadow. It will be a complex journey and not everything will be revealed at once. It will require acceptance, curiosity, and most importantly patience.
Upcoming Sacred Shadows Container
The Light Beneath the Guilt
Dec 1st, 15th & 29th, 2024
From 10 am- 12:30 pm est
Guilt can touch the deepest aspects of our existence, shaping our actions, decisions, and self-perception. But what if we transform this guilt into an opportunity for personal growth? What if we could use it as a catalyst for uncovering our hidden strengths and potentials?
Guilt, as an emotion, can be defined as a sense of regret or remorse for real or imagined behaviors that violate one's moral code.
It is a self-conscious emotion, which means that it is intimately related to our self-awareness and behavior. It frequently acts as a "moral compass," nudges us when we stray from the ethical path.
As we enter the year 2025, it is an opportunity for us to understand some of our shadows a bit deeper. This upcoming December we will deal with a shadow that is too familiar to me; Guilt. I often feel guilty about setting boundaries with others or putting myself first. There is this underlying belief that I don't deserve it, I am not worthy or afraid of not being accepted.
This December, we will explore the guilt shadow and how it shows up in our lives and how to transform it into better boundaries and more love towards self.
This is where the intentional shadow work begins. In this container we are going to shed light onto our hidden guilt. We will come in contact with this shadow and give it voice. We will hold it with love and engage it fully.
Our shadows hold parts of you that you have long been forgotten, overlooked, or perhaps intentionally buried because of societal norms, personal traumas, and conditioned beliefs. We need them to become whole and more self-aware. The shadows are also where your gifts and talents lie as well.

Testimonials
“Sanaa is a retreat GENIUS. I had the pleasure of working with her to develop a strategy for my first international retreat. I knew from our first call that she was the coach I needed to make it happen. Without hesitation, she dove right into understanding my vision for the retreat and helped me design a memorable experience for the women in my community. With her guidance, I learned strategies for selecting a retreat location, created a process to track revenue/expenses, and built a bespoke itinerary. And all the templates and waivers she shared...game-changing. Thank you for making this a seamless and exciting process, Sanaa!”

“Working with Sanaa as a consultant for dreaming up and executing my first international coaching retreat was a fantastic experience. I hired Sanaa when I was clear that I wanted to do a retreat, I had some skeleton structure around the kind of content I wanted to cover, and I was very clear on what the feel of the experience should be. What Sanaa was able to do was take all of that and turn it into tangible, valuable decision support that led to an absolutely wildly successful retreat in Costa Rica in September 2022. Specifically, Sanaa was absolutely invaluable in helping to locate our ideal retreat setting – she has a deep and expansive knowledge of international sites, real estate, and the pros and cons of housing setups. She was also immensely helpful in translating the content I had in mind into a structure that made sense. Her budget templates ensured that we hit our target revenue and profit margin, and there were several key referrals for material support, gifts, and chef selection that were also so helpful. In summary, she provides full wraparound consultation services, and was able to think of things that I would not have otherwise, which allowed our team to plan and execute at the highest level. Because I worked with Sanaa, I had the exact retreat experience I was looking for, and my clients were completely blown out of the water. 10 out of 10, highly recommended!”

“I have grown tremendously through working with Dr. Sanaa Jaman. The mentoring sessions have been transformational. It has provided a safe space for me to share my struggles, my wins, my ups, and my downs. I have been able to be vulnerable without the fear of being criticized or judged. Being vulnerable is not something that comes easy. The sessions have been a safe and comforting space for me to show up authentically 100% as Khadijah. I have learned how to trust myself. I have always struggled with trusting my feelings. I would criticize myself for being “too sensitive” or "overreacting,” which led to feelings of shame or guilt.
Through working with Sanaa, I learned the following: 1) My feelings, thoughts, emotions, etc., are valid; 2) Trust myself and my intuition; 3) The difference between fear and my intuition; 4) Strategies to process the feelings of anxiety or fear when they arise; 5) Improved communication of my feelings better because I have taken time to process them; 6) To be gentle and compassionate with myself; 7) Strategies for navigating academia in a doctoral program as a black woman 8) To communicate better and show my husband more compassion 9) To be confident in ability to achieve the goals that I have set for myself. 10) You must live your life the way you have been called to live it. It doesn’t need to make sense to everyone. It just needs to make sense to you. Let your intuition guide you. It has already gotten you this far.
I could keep going about my experiences and the progress I have made, but I think 10 is good. If you haven’t signed up yet, what are you waiting for? 10/10 recommend.”

“During my yoga teacher training, I wanted to improve my teaching techniques and cues. I signed up for 1:1 sessions with Sanaa because I wanted to learn how to be a better teacher. She gave me the most of her time and knowledge. She even created a mock class with people who didn’t practice yoga before so I would be challenged and learn. I am so happy now and I have the confidence to teach. Thank you Sanaa”
