Where It Began

Born and raised in Kuwait, Sanaa Jaman had an early interest in mathematics and problem-solving. Throughout her teenage years, as she battled depression, anxiety, and abuse, it was mathematics that offered a much-needed reprieve. In 2016, she received her doctorate in environmental engineering sciences from the University of Florida.

Dr. Jaman’s yoga journey began in 2013 as an at-home practice and, in time, transformed into something much deeper. As she moved her body into physical postures, she started to develop a deeper understanding of not only herself but the world around her. Through her yoga practice, she acquired the skills to address previous traumas, acknowledge her emotions, and ultimately heal to improve her mental health.

Whether as a friend, sister, daughter, and/or mentor, Sanaa has a unique gift of knowing what others need before they ever ask for it. Anyone who has the pleasure to know her and learn from her will say the same thing; she leaves everyone better than she found them—authentically connecting with people from all walks of life and supporting them in the best way she knows how.

Creating Space

As she dove deeper into her yogic journey, Sanaa was discouraged from noticing that there were minimal people of color practicing and hosting yoga-related events. It was an imbalance she could relate to all too well following her years in the engineering field and felt compelled to create space in the yoga industry for everyone of every background to feel welcome and safe.

In 2014, Sanaa joined a teacher training to learn more about the history and philosophy of yoga. At the time, her intention was not to teach, but she inevitably found herself inspired to share this life-changing practice with others. She is now committed to hosting international retreats, revolutionary workshops, and teacher training programs to help thousands of people worldwide overcome their struggles.

Invoking Change

In summer 2015, Sanaa launched the infamous #DorkTour, a revolutionary workshop series hosted in various cities across the nation, inviting people of every ethnicity to explore and actively engage in their mental, emotional, and spiritual healing. Through the power of movement, mindfulness, reflection, and unwavering community, Sanaa graciously supports attendees as they embark on a deeper exploration of self to access their highest potential.

Leading Others

With more than ten years of teaching experience, a dedicated mentee of Tracee Stanley, and a current enrollee in an intentionally regarded yoga therapy program, Sanaa encompasses the qualities of both an exceptional student and guide. She aims to teach through authenticity, sharing personal experiences on and off the mat to aid others in overcoming their own mental and physical blockages.

You’ll find her as a highly respected 200hr yoga teacher trainer at Tru3 yoga and a one-on-one mentor for those seeking a more personal experience. She offers an advanced skillset in trauma-informed yoga, meditation, yoga for depression & anxiety, the Business of Yoga & yoga training curriculums.

A Bright Future

Today, Sanaa proudly considers herself a wellness practitioner, well-rounded student, and international teacher. Her brand has widely successful operations in Kuwait, Morocco, Peru, Indonesia, South Africa, and the United States. She has released multiple yoga e-books, established an environmentally safe inner(G) clothing and yoga mat brand, and opened an innovative studio in her hometown of Kuwait called Tru3 Yoga.
